PRAISE FOR "5000 WAYS YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM DETROIT"

The book arrived on Saturday but this is the first chance I’ve had to experience the book and write you.  I had no idea that you were going to produce such a treasure!  I think of all the work to make the book happen. This book should be on the conference table of anybody wanting to get a feel for the D.

Thanks so much for sending the book. It’s stunning. The text, the graphics, the design are superb. 5000 Ways is a more than a history book, it’s a definitive recollection of an era that although long gone, still lingers. These 5,000 are the events, venues, and people Detroiters still dream about.  Bravo!

I just received my copy of "5,000 Ways You Know You're From Detroit." Thank you so much! What a fantastic book. It's truly a treasure of Motor City memories. I'm honored to have played a small part in it. For your sake I hope sales knock it our of the park like Willie Horton!

I was so excited to receive the book and did look through it this weekend.  I’m also having some of my Detroit coworkers look through it!  Really beautiful, and I think we’re going to order a few for holiday gifts!

Thanks so much for sending the book with Gary in it. Wow. It sure does look like you hit on most everything and it is a beautiful book! It's going to take me an entire day to actually look a the entire book. CONGRATULATIONS and good luck, although I don't think you are going to need it! If they don't like that book, they won't like anything!

THANK YOU for both the volume and the memories! What an Amazing Book! It really is INCREDIBLE! I never thought I’d find myself tearing up over a photo of an automobile! This is a mind boggling accomplishment, and clearly a labor of love! Again with many THANKS, yours most sincerely,

The book arrived in today's mail! A very bright note on such a dreary Wednesday!!  I had a chance to peruse a bit and I am so impressed. The book looks terrific!! Congrats to you and Elaine!!! I'm proud to have been able to help out a bit. And I'm more than tickled that my Redford GWTW marquee taken by Lowell Boileau was the selection for the Redford Theatre!! I know that the book will provide hours of entertainment for me in the coming days.

We are target marketed. It is for Boomers. But it is truly good, and nostalgic but not in a corny way. I keep picking it up and looking at each section. Lots of Leni Sinclair photos, but it's not all music. Just takes you through our entire childhood. I mean, Milky the Clown!

I received the book today. Thank You very much I really like it. Great memories. I just spent the last 3 hours going through it quickly. I'll probably be up all night reminiscing with myself lol. B.T.W. On page 313 you talk about Hometown Hero -- Willie Horton. The man in the picture is Gates Brown. Look on page 314 Willie is in the first row, Gates is in the third. Lol just keeping you on your toes.

I leafed through the book last night, and I all I could say was "Wow!" I can't begin to tell you how impressed I was with the book's look, packaging, and contents. I'm so happy that you thought to include the Legendary Songs list in the text.
